Stronger. Lighter. More efficient.

The new MAN engine family

More power, less weight, better fuel efficiency, smaller engine displacement. The new D15 in-line 6-cylinder engine for MAN’s TGS and TGX series scores across the board. The low engine weight is a huge plus point for industry applications. “With the D15, we are presenting the latest engine concept with an even better payload ratio. Compared with its predecessor, the D20, the new 9-litre engine has an extra 230 kilos of payload,” comments Michael Makowsky, Senior Manager Sales & Marketing at MAN Truck & Bus SE. The new engine design delivers especially for work that is billed according to the quantity of transported goods. That applies to fuels, mineral oils, and concrete.

Even better performance with the D26 and D38

“The new Euro 6d emission standard will apply from September 2019. When we overhauled our engines, we didn’t only bring them in line with the law, we also built in a whole lot of improvements,” remarks Michael Makowsky.

In specific terms, this means 10 hp more power and 100 Nm more torque for the D26 engines. They also have an extra 80 kilos of payload, and a simplified cooling system, all with the same low fuel consumption.

Exclusively for the MAN TGX series: the D38 in-line 6-cylinder engines with optimised engine peripherals, and immediately available as a Euro 6d standard model.
